HISTORY
Sawmill The Young Sheep on the Kalverringdijk (Zaanse Schans) was built in 2007 and is the youngest addition to De Zaansche Molen. Once the mill stood in the Westzijderveld, behind the railway station of Zaandam.
In 1942 the mill was demolished. But before the demolition, the mill was surveyed in detail by the Alkmaar windmill expert Anton Sipman (1906-1985). Using the drawings of Anton Sipman and using modern computer techniques, the rebuilding could be started on 24 September 2005. On September 27, 2007, exactly two years later, the mill opened.
The mill is open 7 days a week, receives many visitors, and saws on commission.
